Week 1: An ODE is Linear if it is linear in y(the function)-variable, NOT in x(the underlying)-variable. Any linear ODE can be written in the form of (6) on p4 of the textbook. On monday's lecture I was wrong to say that the sum of any two solutions of linear ODE is again a solution of the same ODE - The statement is only true for homogeneous equation, that is, when g(x) given in (6) is zero.
Week 2: Note that OFFICE HOURS ARE CHANGED TO MW 2:30-4pm.
02/07: Solutions to midterm I is now available.
