As a reference book, we list
"Elementary theory of L-functions and Eisenstein series" (LMSST No. 26, 1993).

Topics: I would touch the following topics in this course:

• Cohomological modular forms on GL(1) and GL(2);
• Cohomology theory related to modular forms;
• p-adic measure theory and its relation to Hecke operators;
  
• Construction of analytic p-adic L-functions.

Prerequisite:
Good understanding of commutative and non-commutative algebra, algebraic number theory. 

Homework.
I would assign exercises in the lecture notes as homework, and I hope to be able to distribute answer keys to the homework questions at the end of the course. The course grade is assigned by homework performance (if you want  A, you need to do a lot without much mistake); so, no final exam is planned. In any case,  homework is assigned to enhance your understanding of the material; so, I suggest you to do all for yourself.
