It will cover everything, from the first day to the last day.
In particular, it covers everything from the first test, everything from the second test, plus the recent material:
The general format will be similar to the midterms, but about twice as long. The test will be mostly like the homework. Like the homework, the test can ask both for calculations and for proofs. (We want you to be able to reason with these concepts.) The test can also ask for definitions.
Ground rules: Paper will be provided. Bring pencil and eraser. No calculators (but we still expect you to multiply numbers out). Closed book. Please bring your photo ID to the test.
There is no "practice final exam." But you can make your own: From the two practice midterms, the two actual midterms, and Problem Set VIII, choose about ten or twelve problems.
On Monday, December 10, I have my usual office hours. Owen Sizemore will have office hours 3:30-5:30. Then I will hold a "last chance" question-and-problem session, 5:30 - 6:30 pm, in MS 5127. And of course our VOH site is available 24/7.
Grades will be posted on my.ucla about December 19.
