Inverse Problems in Mathematical Physics

Abstract:

In inverse problems one attempts to discover internal properies of a body by making boundary measurements. For example, the Electrical Impedance Tomography is a problem of determination of conductivity of the body from the measurments of the voltages and corresponding current flows at the boundary. We will consider this and other inverse problems arising in medicine, geophysics and quantum mechanics. We will give a survey of the progress in solving these problems.
