Dear grads, Choosing an advisor is one of the most important things you will do in graduate school. Get some insight into how to make this decision at GSO's week-long "How to Choose an Advisor" seminar. On Monday, May 14, a panel of grad students will talk about their experiences choosing and working with their advisors. From Tuesday, May 15 through Friday, May 18, there will be a series of seminars, organized according to research area, where several professors who can take students give brief talks on their research and advising style. See below for the schedule of talks. This should be an excellent opportunity for beginning grad students to find out what their options are, and we are pleased to bring it to you. -GSO Seminar schedule: Monday, May 14 HOW TO CHOOSE AN ADVISOR Graduate Student Panel 4-5 PM in Ackerman 2408 Tuesday, May 15 ALGEBRA Murray Schacher and Alexander Merkurjev 3-4 PM, Dept.
