Grading Policy

Your grade will be assigned based on your performance in the course, measured via homework assignments, midterm exams, and a final exam. Your grade will be calculated as the higher of the two schemes:
  1. 10% homework, 20% 1st midterm, 20% 2nd midterm, 50% final
  2. 10% homework, 20% higher midterm, 70% final
This accomodates missing a midterm for sickness/travel/etc, and no other midterm accomodations can be made. The final must be taken to receive a non-failing grade in the course, and no accomodations can be made.

Homework

  • 10 weekly homework assignments, graded for completeness and accuracy.
  • Include your name, student ID, and section number.
  • Due on Friday during first ten minutes of class.
  • After first ten minutes, homework marked half-off.
  • No late homework accepted after Friday class.
  • Graded homework returned in discussion section.
  • Lowest 2 homework grades dropped -- this accomodates for sickness/travel/etc. and no other homework accomodations can be made.
