Braxton Osting is currently an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles. His postdoctoral advisor is Stanley Osher. His research interests lie at the interesection of mathematics, science, and engineering.
Braxton earned a Ph.D. degree (with distinction) in Applied Mathematics at Columbia University under the supervision of Michael Weinstein and David Keyes. His doctoral thesis was entitled Spectral Optimization Problems Controlling Wave Phenomena. Braxton completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, where his undergraduate advisor was Nathan Kutz.
