This project will examine structure of large social networks and dynamics on networks. We will use some real world examples as case studies. The examples include field interview card data from the Los Angeles Police Department; gang crime data in Los Angeles; and the IKENET database of email traffic at West Point. Students will learn statistical clustering techniques and will develop algorithms and models for understanding dynamics on networks.
