Assignment #2
Announcements:
- The course web page is
www.math.ucla.edu/~baker/222a .
Copies of handouts are available there, as well as a free on-line
copy of the text by Burris and Sankappanavar.
- Days 2-W and 2-F will be non-lecture reading days, because
of the national mathematics meetings. Some time later
we'll have a couple of special problem sessions to make up
the time.
- For 2-W, read Sections 1.1-1.3 in Burris and Sankappanavar
- For 2-F, read Section 1.4 in Burris and Sankappanavar; also
read Handout I if you don't already know this material.
- Note that 3-M is a holiday.
- I'll have an extra office hour 1:30-2:30 on Tuesday, January 21 (3-T).
Homework.
Due 3-W rather than 2-F, because of the reading days and the holiday.
