Format and Conditions:
Similar to the midterms, but 120 points.
Please sit an odd number of seats from the windows. Simplify answers reasonably unless the problem says not to.
If the problem doesn't specify a method, then any correct method is acceptable.
Coverage:
All lectures, handouts, and homework. In chapters where we didn't cover everything, use homework and lectures as a guide.
We did not cover recurrences with multiple roots, §5.3.3, and §11.2.
Do know all the material we did involving Dn and involving Catalan numbers. Also know generating functions well enough to be able to apply them in new situations, given some guidance.
Be able to do a formal induction, as in the homework. This time write it out in a complete enough way that it stands on its own, ending by saying something like, ``Therefore the original assertion is true by induction.''
