GENERAL INFO:
This is a course on basic stability theory in model theory. We will
start with reviewing basic model theory; the suggested text for this
is "Model Theory: The Introduction" by David Marker. Then we will switch
to stability; there are several texts, none of them perfect. I suggest
"Essential Stability Theory" by Steven Buechler. Other options are
"Introduction to Stability Theory" and "Geometric Stability Theory" by
Anand Pillay, and, of course, "Classification Theory" by Saharon Shelah,
which
is unfortunately out of print. The last two books are excellent references
(much better than the first two), but much harder to study from.
