Hi Everyone,

Hope this email finds you doing well! There are a lot of things going on in the next few weeks - information sessions, interviews, and exams. I wanted to let you know about these upcoming events, so you can come and learn more about the actuarial profession.

Best,
William Lin

The Outline of the Newsletter:

  1. Towers Perrin Information Session, October 12th
  2. Watson Wyatt Information Session, October 19th
  3. Mercer Information Session, October 20th
  4. Resume Book

I. TOWERS PERRIN INFORMATION SESSION, OCTOBER 12

Towers Perrin is a national employee benefits consulting firm. They will be presenting an information session on the actuarial profession and their company on Tuesday, October 12. It will begin at 5:30pm, and will be in MS 6627. If you want more information about their company, visit their website at www.towersperrin.com. Please come prepared with questions to ask the Towers representatives. I found, from my experience, that you can learn a TON from talking to the representatives afterwards!

***We will be taking sign-ups after the information session, for those of you who want to study for actuarial exams with other people! Having people to study with makes things run more efficiently.

II. WATSON WYATT INFORMATION SESSION, OCTOBER 19

There will be more information on this later.

III. MERCER INFORMATION SESSION, OCTOBER 20

There will be more information on this later.

IV. RESUME BOOK, OCTOBER 29th

Last year we put together a club resume book for students looking for full time employment and for internships. We sent these booklets to companies in Consulting, Property & Casualty, and Health Insurance.

We will be doing the same thing again. Please try to work on your resumes. We will need them by October 29th.

We will probably set up a means to drop your resumes in the Undergraduate Math Office, but I have yet to verify this with Nicole, and will have more directions in next week's newsletter and at the meeting next week. Essentially we will need about 20 copies of your resume (You may include cover letters for each resume if you would like) so that we can make the booklets-final version and all.

Our actual drop dates will be included in the next newsletter too.
