At the Wisconsin School of Business, we seek to expand our research expertise and doctoral training on a continuous basis. We want to take this moment to update you on our most recent research chosen to be relevant and impactful in our ever-changing environment and request that you highlight our work with aspiring Ph.D. students at your institution as our application deadline is drawing near, December 15.
Our online brochure provides details about the approach and structure of our Ph.D. program, along with faculty biographies and faculty and student research highlights. Our doctoral students contribute to relevant bodies of knowledge through their work with our research-active faculty in a diverse set of domains. Areas of interest include actuarial science, predictive modeling, behavioral decision making in the insurance context, insurance economics, health care analytics, and social insurance.
Our mission is to cultivate and disseminate ideas in these disciplines through high-quality research and educational programs. We have active undergraduate programs in actuarial science as well as risk management and insurance, an MBA in risk management and insurance, a Capstone Certificate in Actuarial Science, and importantly a Ph.D. program in actuarial science, risk management and insurance. We hope to see some of your current undergraduate and master’s students join our Ph.D. program in the future.
