The Department of Defense (DoD) offers approximately 200 3-year fellowships, supports PhD study in science and engineering disciplines of military importance. The NDSEG is also sponsored by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), the Army Research Office (ARO), the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCM), and the Office of Naval Research (ONR), under the direction of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&E). Fellows will attend a United States institution of their choosing. With this fellowship, the DoD funds scholars to increase the number of future scientists and engineers.
