The UCLA Mathematics Content Program for Teachers (MCPT) is a mathematics education group within the Philip C. Curtis Jr. Center for Mathematics and Teaching in the UCLA Department of Mathematics.
The UCLA Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with UCLA Extension, is proud to offer courses for teachers who wish to increase their competence and confidence in school mathematics. MCPT math courses are especially designed for teachers and may be used to:
- Earn salary credits
- Complete requirements for a Supplementary Authorization to teach mathematics through grade 9 (30 quarter units)
- Complete requirements for a Subject Matter Authorization to teach mathematics through grade 9 (48 quarter units)
- Learn content assessed on the California Subject Examination for Teachers in mathematics (CSET1 and 2)
- Demonstrate subject matter competency as a "highly qualified teacher" under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001
