The UCLA Mathematics Department, in collaboration with the UCLA Mathematics Project, UCLA Center X (Graduate School of Education), the UCLA Statistics Department, and UCLA University Extension is proud to offer courses for teachers who wish to increase their competence and confidence in school mathematics. MCPT courses may be used to earn salary points, a Supplementary Authorization to teach mathematics through grade 9 (30 quarter units), a Subject Matter Authorization to teach mathematics through grade 9 (48 quarter units), and to demonstrate subject matter competency as a “highly qualified teacher” under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001.
