LUCIMATH (Local
School Districts, UCLA,
CA County Offices
of Education Institutes
in MATHematics) began in April 2001
as a professional development that was once limited to K-2 teachers from
the Los Angeles Unified School District. With the combined efforts behind
the UCLA Math Content Programs for Teachers curriculum writing team of
the Department of Mathematics and the UCLA Mathematics Project implementation
team of the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies - Center
X, LUCI K-2 Mathematics served over 5000 teachers within its first year
alone. Since then, LUCI has grown to serve teachers of all grade levels
with specific mathematics programs for K-1, Grades 2-3, Grades 4- 5, and
Algebra.
Good news! LUCIMATH is now available throughout the
greater Los Angeles vicinity and welcome all teachers of the public school
system.
