Graduate Division PhD Hooding Ceremony |

- In order to participate, the student must file the doctoral dissertation in the library by June 1, 2009. Students who complete the filing process are mailed an invitation and the information needed to participate in the ceremony.
- Graduates are responsible for purchasing the cap and gown through Graduate Etc. Graduate division provides hoods.
- Light refreshments are provided for graduates and faculty before the ceremony and for everyone following the ceremony.
- If your faculty advisor will attend the ceremony, please contact Maggie immediately.

- The Mathematics Department Commencement Ceremony is an opportunity for graduating Ph.D. candidates to be recognized for their achievements in finishing their degree. This day is a wonderful celebratory experience whereby students are honored before their families and close acquaintances, Faculty and the Math Department staff for many years' hard work. During this ceremony, the Graduate Vice Chair announces each student's name, their thesis advisor and thesis title as they walk across the stage. This ceremony is special in the personal nature of the student's achievement; it is a day not to be missed!
- If you plan to participate in this celebration, please let Martha know May 19 - May 23 for a seat reservation. This is very important so that we have sufficient seats for graduate students.
- You may order up to 10 guest tickets through your MY UCLA web page and pick them up at the Central Ticket Office Monday May 18, 2009 through Monday June 1, 2009 (Photo ID is required for pick-up.)
