Hello everyone!

Since many of you are continuing on to the Math 131BH course
offered this spring, which will still be taught by myself and Nick
Crawford, I would welcome any suggestions as to how to improve
the course for next quarter. (I usually don't recieve the student
evaluations until the middle of next quarter, which is often too
late to address structural issues of the class such as
grading schemes). Anonymous comments will be welcome, of course.
By default, the 131BH class is going to be designed along very similar lines to the 131AH class, so this is your one and only chance to change matters before the spring quarter begins!

Sample topics of discussion include

* grade weighting (currently it is 40% final, 20% for either midterm, 15% for homework, and an additional 5% of the best of the three exams, plus a possible 2% bonus points)

* homework grading policy

* difficulty level of questions in homework and exams (e.g. level
of emphasis on proofs)

* format of exams and homework (e.g. open book versus closed book, etc.)

* reliance on web page material (e.g. posting corrections to notes on the bonus point page; java quizzes; etc.)
