Local Information

• Talks will start on Monday, February 1 and end on Friday, February 5th.
• All talks will take place at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM). The institute is located in the Portola Plaza Building, grid square F4 on the UCLA Campus Map. Here are directions to IPAM. The institute is a short 5-10 minute walk from the conference hotels.
• Please note: Although the conference is hosted by IPAM, all matters such as travel reimbursement, visa information, etc. will be handled by the UCLA mathematics department. Please do not contact IPAM. If you have questions about this conference, please write to shlyakht at math.ucla.edu.
• If your are offered financial support for your hotel accomodations, please reserve the hotel by logging in as a conference participant. Your hotel reservation will be handled by UCLA. Otherwise, please see the following list of hotels maintained by the UCLA department of Mathematics.
  If your hotel was reserved by UCLA, please log in as a paricipant to see which of the following three hotels you will be staying at:

• Transportation from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to UCLA. The best option is to use the FlyAway Bus, operated by LAX airport. This bus can be boarded outside the baggage claim area at all terminals, and offers non-stop service to the vicinity of UCLA campus (Westwood). The bus takes you to a stop near Parking Lot P32 (across from Lot P36), grid square D8 on the campus map. The hotels are a 5-15 minute walk from that stop. The fare is $5 one-way, exact change required.
• Where to eat. For lunch, there are several options inside the Ackermann Student Union building (walk west from IPAM). Besides several food places on the same level as IPAM, there are also eateries on the level below. There are many restaurants in the area surrounding Westwood hotels. Some of the ones I know: Acapulco ($$, Mexican, 1109 Glendon); Gardens ($$$, American, 1139 Glendon); Napa Valley Grille ($$, American, 1100 Glendon); Thai House ($$, Thai, 1049 Gayley); but there are many other good ones in the area.
