Ch1-Ch5.

Time and Location: MWF 1:00-1:50, MS 5117.

Exam schedule:

Midterm:  Monday, February 9 (in class).

Final Exam: Thursday, March 19, 2008, 3:00-6:00.

There are no make- up exams. Any questions concerning the grading for the midterm or homework should be addressed within a week after getting back the midterm or homework.

Grading:

The final grade of the course will be determined by the higher one of the following two scores:

1. Homework - 20%, Midterm - 20%, Final examination - 60%;
2. Homework - 20%, Final examination -80%.

Calculators: No calculators  (and other electronic devices) will be allowed on the exams.

Homework:

Homework will be assigned weekly during the Friday's lecture and will be collected on the Friday's lecture of the following week. No late homework will be accepted.
