Exams: Note: No makeups are allowed for the midterm and for the final examination. In order to pass the class you must take the final exam. Bring a photo ID card to all exams. No calculators, books, or notes will be permitted.

Grading: The final grade will be based on the best of the following schemes:

Final Exam 40%, Each Midterm 25 %, Homework: 10%

or

Final Exam 65%, The best Midterm 25 %, Homework: 10%


Homework problems:

Homework will be collected at the beginning of the lecture every Friday. Late homework will not be accepted. Label each homework clearly with your name and class (Math 31A, Lecture 1, Section #). You may work together on the homework, but you must write up your solutions by yourself. Note that EACH homework will be counted.
