Exams: Note: No makeups are allowed for the midterm and for the final examination. In order to pass the class you must take the final exam. Bring a photo ID card to all exams. No calculators, books, or notes will be permitted.

Grading: The final grade will be based on the best of the following schemes:

Final Exam 40%, Each Midterm 25 %, Homework: 10%

or

Final Exam 65%, The best Midterm 25 %, Homework: 10%



Recommended problems from the sections not covered by the homework: 17.7: 19, 20, 22, 25, 27, 28, 35, 37. 17.8: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 16, 17, 19. 17.9: 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30.

Homework problems:

Homework will be collected at the beginning of the lecture every Friday, starting on April 8 and ending on May 27. Late homework will not be accepted. Label each homework clearly with your name and class (Math 32b, Lecture 2, Section #). You may work together on the homework, but you must write up your solutions by yourself. Note that EACH homework will be counted.
